Westworld

I have been really loving Westworld this past few weeks, I recently made a post about TV shows that have been my favourite this year and mentioned that I was looking for a new one, well this was a brilliant find, I’m so pleased I decided to give it a go. I definitely makes it into my top TV shows of this year!

Westworld is now all finished up! I have been loving this season and waiting a week for each new episode to come out has been horrible. I wont mention any spoilers in case your not caught up, but a lot of the guesses that were going around the internet turned out to be true so I would stay clear from Reddit and what not if your not wanting anything ruined.

If you haven’t started Westworld yet I would really recommend it, I’m sure you have heard loads about it as its all everyone has been talking about lately. The second series wont be finished until at least 2018 as it is a huge show to shoot and they are most likely moving onto a new ‘world’ in the park. There was a hint in the last episode to what the next world we see could be. A lot of people are calling it ‘Samurai World’.

Anyway this was just a quick post to mention a show I have been loving lately, I hope if you’ve been watching it you’ve loved it too!

My Top Five TV Shows!

I’ve been really loving getting more in TV shows lately and thought I would share some of my favourites! Some of these I’ve been watching for years and some are really new to me. I think TV has been really great the past few years, they are really well produced and actually seem to be taking over Movies. There are a lot more that I wanted to mention but I decided to pick from shows that I have been watching this year.

Black Mirror
Black Mirror is a TV show created by Charlie Brooker. Each episode is a different chilling story, usually about not so distant future. There is always a new setting and new cast, with many different writers writing each episode. They are always very dark and sometimes I have found some of them slightly traumatising! Most of the episodes are revolved around technology and show how too much reliance can cause terrible things for the human race in the future.
This programme is available on Netflix and the whole new season is on there. The first episode of the new season is based on a world where were we are constantly being rated by everyone that we meet. And your social and work life are based around your rating out of 5. The programme follows one young woman who is trying her best to raise her score to get a ‘better’ life and shows the struggle of someone who has low score trying to make it in the new world.

Jessica Jones
I love Jessica Jones, I have to admit that I have been loving a lot of the Marvel series on Netflix, but Jessica Jones really hooked me and is definitely my favourite. Jessica Jones is played by Krysten Ritter, she plays a woman who has incredible strength who works as a self employed detective. Her counter part is David Tennant who is amazing as the ‘bad guy’ in this series. Tennant plays Kilgrave, a man who has the ability to control anyone, all he has to do is speak to them and they will do anything he says.

The relationship between the two isn’t a good one, with Tennats character basically keeping Jones captive until she manages to free herself. The show follows the two trying to battle it out to get the best of each other, Jones wanting to rid the world of Kilgrave and Kilgrave wanting to capture and take control of Jones once again. It really is a great show and I would really recommend watching it.

Blacklist
I basically love Blacklist because of James Spader, he is amazing in this role and every second he is on screen you are held captivated by him. James Spader plays a man called Raymond Reddington a criminal mastermind on the FBI’s most wanted list. The first season is about his obsession with a new FBI agent called Elizabeth Keen, to get close to her he makes a deal with the FBI that he will give them a name from his ‘blacklist’ of other high profile criminals and help to capture them, but only if he can work with Keen.
Each episode is a new case and you start to gain more insight as to why he wants to get close to Keen. Later in the programme it becomes more revolved around Reddington and Keens relationship, the closer he gets to her the more her life seems to unravel.

Bobs Burgers
Bobs burgers is a cartoon sitcom based around Bob Belcher and his wife and three children. They run a family burger restaurant in a seaside town. This is a really nice show with each character having their own unique personalities from Bob the usually grumpy character to Linda the fun loving mother who is always so upbeat and enthusiastic. They have three children, Tina, Gene and Louise.
They have a rival across the street who has a pizzeria who is constantly trying to out do them. And a morgue next door, the owner is great friends with Bob. The children are really great and funny, Louise the youngest is very morbid and Tina is obsessed with butts and writing erotic fan fiction, and Gene loves writing songs and playing his keyboard. Its a really funny show and I’m always so excited when each new episode comes out.

American Horror Story
I’ve been watching this since it first came out and love it. Its a horror TV show with each season having a different theme. The cast mostly stays the same, just playing different roles each season. Lady Gaga is also in the latest two, she is an amazing actor Hotel where she made her debut to the show playing one of the main characters.
With each season being a completely new story it really keeps the show fresh and means there’s no waiting a year to finally get the answers to a terrible cliff hanger like most shows. The new season is only about half way through at the moment and each week I’m dying to see what is going to happen, the latest season is ‘Roanoke’ based on a colony that went missing in America, and the souls that haunt the land in which they all died.
So that’s some of my favourite TV shows of the moment, if you know of any other that you think I would like please let me know as I some of these are due to finish soon!

The images in the post are not my own, each is from google to show more about the programmes.
